Her four three-week old pups emerge from the ground for the first time. When the group goes foraging [[Mozart Whiskers|Mozart]] and other meerkats remain behind to babysit. While the group is foraging the dominant male [[Zaphod Whiskers | Zaphod]] keeps watch over the family. Back at the babysitting burrow, [[Kinkajou Whiskers|Kinkajou]] and a gang of teenagers steal [[Mitch Whiskers|Mitch]], one of the pups, and takes him away from the burrow to play with him. They quickly get bored and leave him in favor of something more fun. [[Shakespeare Whiskers|Shakespeare]] eventually comes to Mitch's rescue and takes him back to the burrow. Flower discovers that her daughter [[Tosca Whiskers | Tosca]] is pregnant, which is considered treason in meerkat society (in which only the dominant female is permitted to breed). When the group returns home from foraging they encounter a puff adder, which bites Shakespeare on the leg and neck. the group don't notice and return home without him. Shakespeare eventually makes it back home but appears close to death. |

A Family Affair is the first episode of the first season of the hit series, Meerkat Manor.
Summary
We meet Flower, the dominant female of a group of meerkats called the Whiskers. Her four three-week old pups emerge from the ground for the first time. When the group goes foraging Mozart and other meerkats remain behind to babysit. While the group is foraging the dominant male Zaphod keeps watch over the family. Back at the babysitting burrow, Kinkajou and a gang of teenagers steal Mitch, one of the pups, and takes him away from the burrow to play with him. They quickly get bored and leave him in favor of something more fun. Shakespeare eventually comes to Mitch's rescue and takes him back to the burrow.
