I have the Flower of the Kalahari book,and it shows the Whiskers in 2000.

I spoke with Grant McIlrath about meerkat sub-species and discovered that those names (such as Grey and Red) aren't official, they're only recognised by their scientific names. Also, that picture actually may not be Holly. Whoever uploaded it only made that assumption because Clutton-Brock spoke of Holly on the page, but the picture itself simply stated that it was "a dominant female leading her pups". It could be anyone; Flower, Eleusine, Grumpy, Bettik... Any dominants from before 2003-2004, back when the radio collars had antennae. There's no real proof that it's actually Holly. The picture came from Flower's book, I don't know what it is called. If you look at the radio collar, that was one of the earlies models, and that one was upgraded before Flower became the dominant female. So it is safe to say it is not Flower. However the person who uploaded the photo stated that it said Dominant Female when the book was taking about Flower as a pup, so it is most likely Holly if the book was talking about the Whiskers before Flower was even an adult. If anyone else has Whisker info and a picture of Holly from the information than please upload it so we can have proof of an actual photo of her. Aniju Aura 01:43, February 19, 2012 (UTC)
