The Enemy Within is the eighth episode of the second season of Meerkat Manor.
Summary[]
While Youssarian is left to babysit the pups, the rest of the Whiskers go foraging and make a pit-stop at their favourite watering hole. Young Achillies falls into the water in his attempt to get a drink but gets over his ordeal quickly. Back at the babysitting burrow, Youssarian abandons his duties to visit Lazuli territory in search of females. When he arrives he discovers that his old partner Pancake has rejoind the family and given birth to two pups, fathered by Youssarian. But when he tries to approach the Lazuli burrow he is chased off by male babysitters.
Meanwhile the Whiskers discover Lazuli scent within their own territory. The Lazuli mob then appears and challenges the Whiskers. A battle breaks out and the Whiskers emerge victorious. A storm forces the family to shelter in a nearby burrow, making them unable to return home to the unprotected pups. After the storm passes the Whiskers return home where they discover all the unguarded pups alive. The next day the Whiskers head off once again, this time leaving the more reliable Mozart to babysit. Instead of leading the group foraging, Flower takes them directly into Lazuli territory. She leads a raid on the Lazuli's babysitting burrow, intent on killing Pancake and her pups. Roving male Youssarian appears at a distance and is mistaken by the Whiskers for a Lazuli male. Half of the family pursue him, leaving a smaller half to continue the raid. While the larger portion of the Whiskers are away, the Lazuli return to the burrow.
