As the day begins, we find the Whiskers bathing in the morning light. Pregnant leader Flower is experiencing her final day of her latest pregnancy, however, her daughter Mozart is also expecting in only a few weeks time. The Boss may have her work cut-out trying to keep the family affairs in order.

As the sun draws its curtains over the Kalahari, Daisy, one of the eldest females, is seen below ground watching over Flower's litter. Mozart's return during to the day was innocently due to the demands of her pregnancy. If she had intended on killing the pups, the opportunity has passed her by. Only time will tell if Flower will return the favor.
Four weeks pass. With Winter approaching, the sweeping sands begin to reclaim the Desert. Thankfully, some areas of the Manor are still lush and abundant. As the Whiskers sun themselves in the light, they are distracted by the murmurs of Flower's latest litter; Milly, Shelly and Bing. However, Mozart has failed to surface. She spent the night giving birth and is still below ground. Flower is aware of what's happening under her roof, but with her pups about to embark on their first foraging experience, she's entirely focused on them. The whole group head out on today's hunt, not sparing a thought for Mozart or her newborn offspring.
The group make their way across the highest point in their territory, "The Big Dune", and find a new patch still supplying rich amounts of meerkat meals. Milly, Shelly and Bing quickly learn that it pays to sing for their supper, and are given plenty to eat by the adults.
Meanwhile, back at the burrow, Mozart has finally surfaced to see if any of her relatives have reminded behind to help her care for her new litter. All alone, she decides to wait for their return.
The day quickly comes to an end, and the Whiskers should be heading back to Mozart. However, Flower leads them into the opposite direction. It isn't long until they come across an unoccupied burrow. The group set to work, clearing the entrances and watching for danger. Flower gives her pups a drink of much-needed milk. By moving burrows, she ensures that only her litter has a chance of survival. There's no room for another set of pups, not even her own daughters.
At the Whiskers' old home, Mozart is still waiting for a family that isn't coming back. If she goes on a search for them, she'll leave her pups vulnerable to danger and would be unable to fend for them. If she decides to stay with her offspring, she'll be unable to eat, therefore unable to produce milk, and would eventually face starvation. Mozart is going to have to choose between her family, and her pups.
