It is sad this time of year. In September of this year Rufus who was the dominant male of the Lazuli was killed by a predator. In mid-2010 Rufus' cousin Wollow got bit by a snake. As a result Rufus was able to overthrow Wollow. He had become the new dominant male of the Lazuli and Young became his mate. Rufus ruled the Lazuli along side Young until early 2013 when Young suddenly died. Young's daughter Christiana took the position next to Rufus as the dominant female. In late August Christiana became pregnant. It is uncertain that the offspring is going to be fathered by Rufus. He ruled the Lazuli for another month when sadly he was killed by a predator. Though Rufus may be dead his memories will live on in the Lazuli. Rest In Peace Rufus. You will be missed.
